I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No 3,
13th August 1866 transmitting a copy of the Act passed by the
Imperial Parliament for the union of the colony of Vancouver Island
with the Colony of British Columbia.
Your
Your Lordship may feel assured that I will afford Governor Seymourmy
cordial co-operation in supporting the policy of Her Majesty's
Government in the consolidation of these Colonies which it has been
my earnest desire to see effected.
I beg to offer my very grateful thanks for the favourable view you
have been pleased to take of my administration of theGovernment Government of
this Colony.
I will place myself at Governor Seymour's disposal as to the time of
my departure for England.
