Enclosed I beg to hand you extract of the letter to which I alluded in my call upon you on Saturday last.
I am sorry that having left the letter in the Vote office by accident I then gave you soManuscript image much needless trouble.
I trust you will now be able to answer my enquiries as to whether Your department has received any tidings of the effects of the deceased officer.

It will be seen from the Minutes on 4033 that in May 1864 we sent Mr Pease all the information we possessed about this case. The enquiry now is as to the effects of the deceased person, and on this point we must ask the Govr to institute enquiry & report the result. Write accordingly to inform Mr Pease?
