The tiny Strawberry Island lies just off of western Cypress Island. It is part of the San Juan group. Strawberry Island, as with Strawberry Bay, was given its European name by Vancouver on June 6, 1792, in reference, presumably, to the abundance of wild strawberry that
grew in the area.1
