Van Winkle Flat
Van Winkle Flat, a low, flat bar, is located on the west side of the
Fraser River , just northwest of
Lytton . According to
this despatch , from 1861,
Melodry and three other natives of Ireland who came to this Colony in the year 1858 mined the Flat for a
very handsome income.
