With reference to your letter of the 9
               Inst;
               
               enclosing a letter from 
Cap Gosset, the Colonial Treasurer of 
British 
                  Columbia, requesting that a Skeleton Gear of a powerful water wheel and
               the Machinery of a circular Mill, and also a Lithographic press may be
               sent out to him, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her
               Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of 
Sir E.B. Lytton, that My Lords will not object to these Articles being supplied
               for the service of the Expedition to 
British Columbia, provided that the
               Cost does not exceed £200, and on the
understanding
 understanding that the amount will
               be repaid from Colonial funds.
