I have to acquaint you that I have appointed Mr Chartres
Brew Chief Inspector of Police in British Columbia with a salary of five
hundred pounds (£500) a year.
Mr Brew will receive the sum of One hundred and fifty pounds
(£150) to
defray the expense of his passage to the Colony and also an advance of
salary to the extent of One hundred and fifty pounds (£150).
According to the Colonial Regulations
1Mr Brew will be entitled to half salary from the date of embarkation,
and to whole salary from that of his arrival in the Colony.
