Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 5th Inst and its enclosure from the Governor of British Columbia suggesting the employment of one or two Gun Boats of light draught, capable of navigating Frazers River, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you for the information of Sir Bulwer E. Lytton, that at the recommendation of Rear Admiral Baynes TheirManuscript imageTheir Lordships have already given orders for two Gun Boats to be fitted for Service in British Columbia.
