Abstract

Romaine provides the Plumper’s passenger manifest, which lists only Moody, and asks on behalf of the Admiralty for Merivale to confirm, through Lytton, as to whether the Expense of Moody’s trip is to be paid by the Public. Blackwood minutes that this expense should be borne by the Public.

The Persons named on the other side hereof, having been entertained on board Her Majesty's Ship Plumper, on the occasions and between the dates stated against their names; I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to request that you will move Secretary Sir E.B. Lytton to cause me to be informed, whether the Expense of the Entertainment is to be borne by the Public.
