Sir,
With reference to your Letter of the 6th Instant, enclosing Transcripts of two Laws enacted by the Government of British Columbia, in the Months of June and August last vizt, No 3 "to alter, in some respects, the rates of Duties of Customs now leviable upon goods and other Articles and things imported into British Columbia, and to make further provision for the levying thereof," and No 6, "To amend the Laws relatingManuscript imagerelating to the Licenses for Selling fermented Liquors, and for the occupation of Crown Lands by Traders, and for other purposes;" I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that They see no objection to these Enactments.
