With reference to your letter of the 28th Ult. transmitting a requisition for Articles required for the Assay Office in British Columbia, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majestys Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle that Their Lordships see no objection to the Agents General being authorized to procure the Articles mentioned in the Requisition, the cost thereof to be considered as an advance to be repaid from Colonial Funds.
Their Lordships presume that when the actual cost has been ascertained it will be necessary to issue the amount to the AgentsGeneralManuscript image General from the Grant for British Columbia.
