Aiken asks Newcastle for information about Seney, who he claims had
realized a Considerable Quantity of money and goodsin British Columbia before being
killed by the fall off a Tree on Frazers River.

To His Grace the Duke of Newcastle Secty of State for the Colonies
My Lord
A man named Seney who has been a resident for some Years past
in British America has been killed by the fall off a Tree on
Frazers River it appears he has realized a Considerable Quantity of
money and goods. I understand his effects are in the hands of the
representatives of the British Government of British Columbia. His
friends are living in Ireland and are anxious to know what course
they will take to obtain it. Consequently I have taken the liberty
of craving your kind information.

It is dangerous for this Office to advise the employment of any Agent in a Colony. I think the writer had better address himself to the Col: Secy of B. Columbia, furnishing all the particulars he can, & requesting that Officers assistance. The Col. Secy will probably then tell the Writer what course should be pursued: & also what property has been left by the deceased.
