Newcastle forwards Douglas a copy of a correspondence between the Rev. John Garrett and the Commissioners for the Exhibition of Works of Industry and Art to be held in London in the year 1862 and asks if Douglas would like to appoint Garett to represent British Columbia at that event.

I transmit for your information a copy of a correspondence between the Rev. John Garrett and the Commissioners for the Exhibition of Works of Industry and Art to be held in London in the year 1862, in order that you may consider whether it be advisable to appoint that gentleman the AgentManuscript image to represent British Columbia on that occasion.
