With reference to Mr Elliot's letter of 22nd April last, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to pay to Messrs. Cox & Co on account of Colonel Moody, R.E. the sum of £300, being his Salary as Chief Commissioner of Works in British Columbia, for Quarter to 31 Decr 1861.

With reference to the Messrs Cox's letter of 26 May, acqt them that His Grace immediately commenced on the subject with the Treasury, & is glad to inform them that their Lordships have authorized the Payr Genl to pay £300 to the Messrs Cox, as Col: M's. salary up to the 31st of Decr. Draft.
