I have the honor to appraize you of the close of the labours of the Oregon Boundary Commissioner. Colonel Hawkins, the British Commissioner, and Staff are expected in England during this Summer.
On the subject of the difficulty which in the 5thManuscript image paragraph of your Separate Despatch of the 28th of February 1861. You represent to have arisen in consequence of a discrepancy between the Boundary Lines as severally determined by the British and United State Commissioner, I have the honor to enclose copy of an explanatory statement extracted from a letter from Colonel Hawkins to Lord Russell.
