Abstract
Despatch to London. Minutes (2).
Douglas acknowledges receipt of Newcastle’s despatch containing Newcastle’s reply to a memorial regarding Reverend Brown’s essay on British Columbia. In the memorial, Cormack and Holbrook complain that a passage from the essay that is critical of the BC government was removed from a printed version. Douglas informs Newcastle that he has passed Newcastle’s reply on to Cormack and Holbrook.

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Graces despatch of the 3rd January last No 62 in reply to my despatch of the 12th of October marked "Separate" transmitting a Memorial from Mr Cormack and Mr Holbrook relative to the Revd R.L. Brown's Essay on British Columbia, andIManuscript image I have to acquaint your Grace that I have furnished a copy of your Grace's despatch for the information of those gentlemen.
