Sir,
In obedience to the instructions conveyed in your despatch
No. 25 of the 19th of July 1864, I have the honor to forward
the explanations furnished by the Acting Auditor of the excess
of Actual over estimated expenditure in the Year 1862. I was
not in the Colony at the time.
2. I will use my best endeavour to bring the accounts of
the Colonyinto into a satisfactory condition and in furtherance of
this object, I will submit to the Legislative Council an Ordinance
Authorizing the appropriation of the amount required to cover
the excess of expenditure this year over the original estimates.
