With reference to Mr Elliots letter of 30th Ultimo, relating to a sum of £60, taken in 1861 from a Constable employed to collect Revenue in British Columbia, I am commanded by the Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit to you the enclosed copy of a Report dated 8th Instant from the Commissioners of Audit, No 123, relating to this matter, and I am to acquaintyouManuscript image you, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, that My Lords have informed the Commissioners of Audit that They will be prepared to give allowance for this sum in the next audited account of the Colonial Treasurer of British Columbia, vizt that for 1862.
