Sir,
With reference to Mr Elliots letter of 10th April last, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, that Mr Charles W. Franks who has been appointed TreasurerofManuscript image of British Columbia, has now executed a personal Bond for £2000, and that the European Assurance Society has given a Bond for a corresponding amount, as security for the due performance by him of the duties of his Office. The Bonds will be retained in this Department.
