Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 9 of the 1st of June last.
I have read with great interest the Speech which you delivered to your Legislative Council on the occasion of your addressing them so soon after the assumptionofManuscript image of your duties as Governor, and I hope that it may prove to have been the precursor of a prosperous Administration.
