Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 5th Instant, transmitting a Receipt with other Documents in support of a payment made by the Colonial Treasurer at British Columbia, in respect of the Pension of Joseph Cue, late of the Irish Constabulary, for the period from 1st April to 31 st Decr 1863, I am directed by the Paymaster General to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that in compliancewithManuscript image with your request, directions have been given, to the Branch of the Paymaster General's Department in Dublin, to cause the amount (issued by the Colonial Treasurer on account of this Pension vizt £21.15.0) to be placed to the Credit of the Crown Agents for the Colonies at the Bank of England.
Referring to the Concluding paragraph in your letter, I am directed to add that, so long as the Pensioner continues to reside in the Colony, it would appear to be the wish of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (with the sanction of the Secretary of State) that he shouldcontinueManuscript image continue to be paid by the Colonial Treasurer.
