Sir F Rogers
I think that the Solicitor's Letter will make it impossible to deny this application.
ABd 10 Oct
Observe that according to the letter of the Solicitor, it wd appear that his legal proceedgs will be terminated possibly within the leave of absence already granted him, and at most within 3 mos after the expiration of that leave—that Mr C. will not object to extend his leave of absence for a reasonable period, for wh he will be at liberty to apply when it appears clear what will really be wanted. But that underManuscript image no circumstances will the Colonial Regulations allow him to receive half salary for more than 5 months in addition to the 12 months already granted him.
