British Columbia during my absence on leave.

The confirmation of the Ordce No 24 increasing the Gov's
salary went out by the Mail of the 16 Oct. The Ordce does not
take effect as Law (as will be seen) till H.M's confirmation has
been proclaimed—but the Payment then becomes retrospective.
