No. 89
Victoria
15th July 1867
My Lord Duke,
I have the honor to forward for Your Grace's consideration a letter from Mr Henry Fowler, at present employed in the OfficeofManuscript image of the Supreme Court of Vancouver Island. Mr Fowler is dissatisfied with his position and wishes his case to be brought under your notice.
I have not much personal knowledge of Mr Fowler, but I hear him highly spoken of. I fear that under present circumstances there is but little chance of my being able to offer Mr Fowler any promotion, but I can secure to him, as long as he behaves well, a situation worth between £200andManuscript image and £300 a year.
The testimonials which Mr Fowler encloses seem to me very favorable.
I have the honor to be
My Lord Duke,
Your most obedient
humble Servant
Frederick Seymour
