Despatch to London. Minutes (3).
Seymour acknowledges receiving Buckingham’s despatch No 67 of the 1 October on selecting British Columbia’s capital. Seymour informs Buckingham that a full report will come by the next mail on the subject as Seymour wants the inhabitants of both the rival cities to eat their Christmas dinner in peace. Blake's minute suggests seeing subsequent 161-4-5/2627-9-30.

I have the honor to acknowledge the recipt of Your Grace's very important despatch No 67 of the 1 October relative to the selection of a capital for the United Colony. I shall report very fully by the next mail on the subject. I propose allowing the inhabitants of both the rival citiesManuscript image to eat their Christmas dinner in peace without letting them even know that I have heard from Your Grace on the subject.
