Morgan states that, while
Lieutenant Morgan did not decide before leaving for
British Columbia which part of the colony Lieutenant Morgan wanted to live in,
Lieutenant Morgan “was more strongly disposed to a location in
Vancouver [Island].”
Jadis minutes that current “Regulations” provide “no privileges in the acquisition of land”
for “Military Officers [on]
Van Couver Island,” even after the union of the colonies. The included document is a reply letter to
Morgan advising that
Lieutenant Morgan would receive the rights deemed claimable at the time the certificate was received.
