I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No. 81
of the
2nd July and to inform you in reply that the Paymaster
General has been authorised by the
Lords of the Treasury to pay to
the
Crown Agents the sum of £568 in repayment of the amount awarded by
your Government to
Messrs Messrs
Clarke and
Skinner as compensation for the
premature termination of their contract for the supply of meat to the
Troops stationed at
New Westminster in
1863.
