Buckingham informs Seymour that Crown Agents have been paid for the amount British Columbia paid to Clarke and Skinner for
the premature termination of [Clarke and Skinner’s] contract.

Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No. 81
of the 2nd July and to inform you in reply that the Paymaster
General has been authorised by the Lords of the Treasury to pay to
the Crown Agents the sum of £568 in repayment of the amount awarded by
your Government toMessrs
