Hammond to Under-Secretary of State
With reference to your letter of the 11th ultimo,
I am directed by Earl Granville to transmit to you, to be laid before the Earl
of Kimberley, a despatch from Her Majesty's Minister at
Washington, inclosing copies of a correspondence he has received
from the United States' Government, from which it will be
perceived that they have decided that the Census of the Islandof
