With reference to your letter of the 1st Ultimo enclosing a Copy of a dispatch from the Governor of British Columbia relative to the award granted by the United States of Colombia to Samuel Harris, a resident in that Colony; I am directed by Earl Granville to request that you will inform the Earl of Kimberley that a letter has this day been received from the Treasury, statingthatManuscript image that Their Lordships have desired the Paymaster General to transfer to the credit of the account of the Crown Agents for the Colonies the sum of £175.15.7, being the amount awarded to Samuel Harris by the Government of Colombia for injuries sustained in the Panama Riots in the year 1856.
