I have to call your attention to my predecessor's despatch to the
               late
Mr. Seymour No. 63 of the
21st August 1868 and to previous
correspondence respecting a claim against the Government of
British
Columbia for £675.2.4 on account of Stores supplied by the War
               Department for
the
 the service of the Colony.

You will observe that the settlement of that claim was allowed to
remain in abeyance owing to the financial difficulties in which the
Colony was then involved. I trust however that in consequence of the
improved state of its finances you will have no difficulty in remitting
               to the
Crown Agents the amount in question for payment to the War
               Department.
