Douglas writes to Labouchere thanking him for sending a copy of Wordsworth on the law of Elections, to assist with establishing a council on Vancouver Island.
CO staff sign as Put by and At once signed by Blackwood and Merivale.
I have received the copy of "Wordsworth on the law of Elections,"
and also the form of ordinance establishing a council, which you were
kind enough to send me.
I feel deeply obliged by your considerate kindness in that
instance, and for the friendly advice in your letter of the 1st of
March, which together with the document and Book, will be of the
greatest assistance, in carrying out the directions I have lately
received from Mr Labouchere.
I will thank you to continue the favour, on all future occasions,
when any thing novel, or extraordinary is to be attempted, or whenever
you may consider it expedient.
If I can be of any use in this part of the world, pray command
my services.
