I have laid before the Earl of Clarendon your Letter of the 26th Ultimo, inclosing a Copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Vancouver's Island, reporting the arrival in Puget's Sound of the officer commanding the United States' Naval Forces, for the purpose of landing Eighty-Seven Indian Prisoners, and I am to request that you will state to Mr Secretary Labouchere that Lord Clarendon concurs in his opinion that the proceedings of Governor DouglasonManuscript image on the occasion in question should be approved.
