I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Mr Merivale's
letter of the 10th Instant, addressed to the Deputy Governor,
transmitting, by your direction, copy of a Despatch from the Governor of
Vancouver's Island, dated Victoria, 20th April 1857, with its
enclosures; and I beg to convey the thanks of the Committee of the
Hudsons's Bay Company for this communication.
