Romaine to Merivale (Permanent Under-Secretary)

I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit to you a Tracing showing the site of HM's Naval Hospital at Esquimalt, Vancouver's Island, and to request that in laying the same before Secretary Sir E.B. Lytton, you will inform him that, as it is possible, at some future time, that it will be advisable to Erect Storehouses or form a Naval Establishment on the portion of Land marked 67 on the plan, my Lords would be glad to have that portion reserved for Naval purposes.
