I am directed by the
Earl of Malmesbury to transmit to you, for the
consideration of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, the
accompanying Copies of a Letter and it's inclosures from the War
Office suggesting that the land and buildings purchased for the use
of the Oregon Boundary Commission should eventually be transferred to
the Colonial Authorities at a valuation,
instead
instead of being disposed of
               to private parties.
