With reference to Mr Elliot's Letter of the 6th Instant, stating that the Duke of Newcastle is desirous that certain Reports recently received from the Surveyor General of Vancouver's Island, affording useful information respecting the Public Lands of the Colony, should be published for circulation amongst intending Emigrants in this country; I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of HerManuscript imageHer Majesty's Treasury, to acquaint you, for the information of His Grace, that They see no objection to authority being given for printing three hundred Copies of these Reports, and They will instruct the Comptroller of the Stationery Office to carry out the proposed arrangement, in communication with the Colonial Land and Emigration Commissioners.
