I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majestys Treasury to
acquaint you for the information of the Secretary of State that
directions have been given to the Comptroller of the Stationery
Office to supply a moderate quantity of Folio Paper to the Governor
of Vancouver's Island as requested in your letter of the 5 Inst.
Draft, Elliot to Hamilton, 5 July 1860, asking that the governor be
"supplied with a moderate quantity of Folio paper
of the size and quality usually employed in writing despatches."
Minutes by CO staff
Mr Jadis
Did not we a long time ago ask Governor Douglas to use writing paper
of the ordinary size? Will you be so good as to see when we did it,
and whether we did not likewise take some steps to cause him to be
provided with the requisite stationery? His overgrown despatches are
quite a nuisance.
Draft, Elliot to Hamilton, 18 January 1862, asking to be informed
of the quantity and size of the stationery sent to Vancouver Island, and
the date on which it was sent.
