I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter, in reply to my communication of the 27th ultimo, concerning George Cook a Government servant in Vancouver's Island; which you are pleased to send me by the direction of the Duke of Newcastle.
I am extremely obliged to his Grace for the full and satisfactory information that it contains; and have lost no time in forwarding your letter to my neighbour, by whom I need not say that it will be received with grateful thanks.
