In reply to your letter of the 24th Ultimo, I have the honor to acquaint you for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle that the amount therein mentioned of Three Hundred and Fifty Six Pounds, One Shilling, and Eleven Pence (£356.1.11) for Stores supplied for the Lighthouses at Vancouver's Island, was paid by the Agents General on the 26th Instant to the Board of Trade, the account with that Colony showing now the amount of £551.18.9 overpaid.

Inform the Bd of Trade in an[swe]r to their Letter of the 14 July that the sum of 356.1.11 has been paid &c.
Write also to the Governor, with reference to the Duke of Newcastle's despatch of the 24 July, and peremptorily instruct him to reimburse the £551.18.9 which has been advanced on behalf of the Colonial Govt.
