In reply to your letter of the 26th September, I am directed by the Lords Commissoners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that instructions have been given to the Paymaster General to pay to the Governor of the Hudson's Bay Company the sum of £32,500, infullManuscript image full discharge of all claims of the Company against Her Majesty's Government in respect of the Resumption of Vancouver's Island by the Crown, and I am to request tht you will move His Grace to communicate to the Governor of the Hudson's Bay Company the directions given to the Paymaster General.
