Mr Elliot
See Sir F. Rogers minute on 6918. We scarcely ever trouble the Commrs of Bankrupts on Col: Bankrupt Laws, though, I daresay, they wd not refuse to give us an opinion, if asked for. Do you think it is worth while to apply to one of them?

Mr Fortescue
The Act no doubt might beManuscript image so referred. But to ask the Commrs to peruse & consider an Act involving minute details and 172 clauses is to ask a good deal, especially as there is no reason for referring this Act which would not apply to all other Acts. I am disposed in this case to leave the responsibility on the Local Law Officers (where they are tolerably competent) and wd leave the Act to its operation; leaving the Local Authies to find out and amend its defects.

I think so. For draft to Govr.
