No. 67, Miscellaneous
31st August 1864
Sir
I have the honor to request that the Crown Agents for the Colonies may be instructed to send out overland with as little delay as possible a complete set of the Imperial Statutes down to 13 and 14 Victoria inclusive.
The want of many Acts of the Imperial Parliament, of which I believe a complete set does not exist in the Colony, is much felt.

I think we send out the Imperial Statutes annually. Am I right in this impression? Govr Kennedy is asking now for the Statutes prior to the establishment of V.C.I. as a Colony: and of course his request shd be complied with, through the Agents.
ABd 20 Oct.
Two copies of the Imperial Statutes have been regularly sent to Vancouver Island since 1850. The Governor now asks for a complete set up to that date. When a similar application to the present was made a short time since from British [Kaffraria?], the Treasury agreed to supply a Copy of the Statutes from 1 Victoria to 14.

There is no reason why the B. Treasury shd pay for these Statutes for the service of the Govt of VanCouver Isd. Instruct the Crown Agents, as requested by the Governor.

Mr Blackwood
Draft to them accordingly.
