Kennedy requests the provision of clothing for police officers, warders, and prisoners, as
it is unobtainable and prohibitively expensive to manufacture in the colony.

Sir,
I have the honor to request that the Crown Agents for the Colonies
may be instructed to procure and send out to this Colony the articles
mentioned in the accompanying Requisition.
Suitable articles of clothing are not procurable here readymade and
the high price of labour would render them too costly if made here.
