Sir,
I have the honor to inform you that I have this day drawn Bills on
Her Majesty's Paymaster General for One Thousand Pounds (£1000) to
meet expenditure incurred by the Colony on account of the Royal
Marines stationed at the Island of San Juan.
The state of the finances of the Colony as indicated by theenclosed enclosed
letter of the Treasurer will I trust be accepted as my excuse for
drawing these Bills before the accounts are transmitted.
I will forward the accounts at the earliest period practicable.
