Referring to my Despatch No 62 of this day's date reporting the grant of twelve months leave of absence to Mr Edward Graham Alston, Registrar General of Titles, I have the honor to inform you that I have appointed Mr George Pearkes to be ActingRegistrarManuscript image Registrar General on half salary during Mr Alston's absence.
Mr Pearkes formerly acted as Crown Solicitor in this Colony and I would solicit your approval of his temporary appointment now reported.
