Sir,
I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge your letter of the 7th Inst., transmitting for their consideration a transcript of an Act, No 11 of 1866, passed at the last Session of the Vancouvers Island Legislature, and entitled "An Act to amend the scale of Fees charged for the entrance and clearance of Vessels, Licenses to Scows, Boats, and other craft, and dues for landing Permits, as well as other matters relating to the same in the Port of Victoria including Esquimalt"—and requesting to be informed whether this Board are of opinion thatthisManuscript image this Act may properly be submitted for Her Majesty's Confirmation.
In reply I am to acquaint you for the information of the Earl of Carnarvon, that this Board see no objection to the Act in question.

No 11 Harbour dues was referred to the Board of Trade, & they see no objection to it. Send it therefore to the Council Office with the 8 others that were approved of & sent on the 7 Jany last.
I suppose the observations upon the Liquor Licence Act & Homestead Act pointd out in your minute of 30th Nov. last will be set forth in the Despatch which goes out with the Orders in Council sanctioning the 9 other Acts.
