With direction from the Board of Trade, Tennent transmits a statement of funds owed to the Board of Trade, regarding provisions at lighthouses on Vancouver Island, and requests payment from the Colonial Office. Elliot’s minute instructs Blackwood to contact Seymour and pay the required funds to the Board of Trade. Included documents describe the funds owed to the Board of Trade and the Colonial Office’s instructions to the colony of British Columbia.
Tennent to Under-Secretary of State
With reference to your letters of the 15th July 1865 and 12th
June last enclosing requisitions from the Governor of Vancouver's
Island for certain stores required for the Lighthouses in that
Colony, I am directed by the Board of Trade to transmit to you a
statement of the expenses incurred by this Department for the
supply of the stores amounting to £212.16.10 and to request that
you will move the Secretary of State for the Colonies to give
directions for this sumto
