Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 30
of the 17th April enclosing a copy of a letter addressed by you to Her
Majesty's Consul at San Francisco on the occasion of the loss of the
Steamer "Labouchere."
Upon receiving Acting Consul Mason's Telegram I caused
triplicates
to be prepared of the Despatches sent from Southampton on the 2nd of
March. These were transmitted to you by the Mail of the 16th May.
