I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 24
of the 27th of November, relative to a Sum of Nine Thousand and Fifty
One Pounds Eighteen Shillings and one penny due to the Colonial
Government on account of the pay of the Royal Engineers.

I enclose a Copy of a letter which I caused to be addressed to the
Board of Treasury on the subject of this claim, together with a copy of
the reply, from which you will learn the steps which their Lordships
propose to take for the settlement of the claim.
