I am directed by the Governor and Committee of the Hudson's Bay Company to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 7th Instant, stating that H.M.'s Steam Vessel Driver had been appointed to sail from Callao, in January last, for the purpose of conveying Governor Blanshard to Vancouver's Island and I am to request that you will convey to Earl Grey the thanks of the Governor and Committee for his Lordship's Communication.
